Run out of MONEY is something PEOPLE will be SCARED of, of course I'm WORRY about that too!ㅋㅋ However being HAPPY is the most IMPORTANT for me!! Let's get BACK to today's topic, this topic, THROWBACK I think it's been quite LONG since I LAST wrote about it.ㅋㅋ So here we go again! FIRST question for this topic, what DIFFERS from being TOURIST and TRAVELERS?? Anyone have a good ANSWER for it??Raise your hands!ㅋㅋ When I heard about TOURIST and TRAVELER at first, I'm scratching my HEAD too!!ㅋㅋㅋ For me BOTH travel to DIFFERENT places than their NORMAL life, so what's the BIG deal? People goes for VACATION, that's NORMAL! That was my THOUGHT!ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
After been TRAVEL to many places, I think I UNDERSTAND the DIFFERENCES! Looking back my OWN experience of traveling, I think I was BORN as a TRAVELER rather than tourist! ㅋㅋㅋ Why I said that?? I love been care FREE and NOT tight with SCHEDULE while I'm traveling!! Personally, I think TRAVEL with AGENT is a WASTE!! Travel with agent makes you a TOURIST, where they BRING you to ORDINARY attractions and PREPARE everything for you. While being TRAVELERS allowed you to STUDY a PLACE, CULTURE and you must be ALERT all the TIME!ㅋㅋ What is the RELATION between tourist or travelers with the TOPIC then??
Like I MENTIONED before, been a TOURIST; normally travel agent will SET up your SCHEDULE and bring you to ORDINARY places right? Meaning they HARDLY bring you to the MARKET, either WET market or FLEA market. YES they might bring you to some SOUVENIR SHOPS at certain area, but with TIME constrain, you cannot LOOK around and CHECKING much. Plus they will TELL you that the SHOP they bring you in is the CHEAPEST shop! Well do NOT totally TRUST them!!ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I know some of you might love travel to new places with TRAVEL AGENT arrangement but why NOT trying to be DIFFERENT? Told them for 1 FREE, EASY day in the SCHEDULE. COMMUTE yourself like LOCAL do!ㅋㅋ Take PUBLIC transport like SUBWAY or BUSES to their MARKET. This PRICELESS experience will SURPRISE you!!^^
Back to our TOPIC!ㅋㅋㅋ We know that in SEOUL there are few FLEA markets. One of it is NAMDAEMUN (남대문) market. What differs NAMDAEMUN with DONGDAEMUN market?? As we know, DONGDAEMUN market is a CENTER for FASHION. What about NAMDAEMUN then?? NAMDAEMUN market known as ONE of LARGEST and OLDEST TRADITIONAL market in SEOUL. The location is at GREAT SOUTH GATE, the main SOUTHERN gate to the OLD city. TRADITIONAL market?? Does it mean ALL you can get here is TRADITIONAL item?? Don't worry! We LIVE in 21st CENTURY, this market BASICALLY serve many stuffs that might come across your HEAD!ㅋㅋㅋ YES you can find some TRADITIONAL/souvenirs here, you also can find MODERN/IMPORTED item here. Just NAME it!ㅋㅋㅋ I don't have to LIST it down here! Too MANY! lol
Once you ARRIVE at NAMDAEMUN Market, you might get CONFUSED! The ALLEY is full of row SHOPS! Worry for being LOST here?? Better NOT!ㅋㅋ If you going ALONE here and CANNOT speak in KOREAN, make sure to get a MAP of Naemdaemun area!! I FORGOT where I place my MAP though.ㅠㅠ It's been few YEARS ago.ㅋㅋㅋ FIRST things I do when I'm there is I got a copy of NAMDAEMUN map! I CANNOT remember where I GET it, but I go all alley with map on HANDS!ㅋㅋㅋ I'm ENJOYING the surrounding! I go AROUND and CHECK the PRICE before I BOUGHT souvenirs! At that time I think I might ONLY buy FEW but END up I bought A LOT!! I have to ask ONE of my KOREAN friend to POST it back to Malaysia!!ㅋㅋㅋ
At this MARKET, you also can STOP by at one most EXCITING stall!ㅋㅋ Wanna HEAR GOOD looking Korean GUYS babbling/EXPLAIN the process while making KKULTARAE (꿀타래)?? Most of you might WONDER what is it right?? Well you can watch VIDEO below!ㅋㅋ (It's NOT my video though, I FORGOT to record it when I was there) It's HARD to explain by words.ㅋㅋㅋ These guys NOT only can speak KOREAN! When I was THERE, they SPEAK my MOTHER TONGUE! MALAY language!ㅋㅋ I was like WOW?! ㅋㅋㅋ! Perhaps they can SPEAK in your MOTHER TONGUE too?? ㅋㅋㅋ
p/s: KKULTARAE (꿀타래), is ONE of Korean SNACK, it made up by more than 16 000 STRINGS of HONEY. SWEET of course but you will get ADDICTED once you have a BITE!ㅋㅋ Somehow my EXPERIENCE makes you WANNA visit SEOUL? Why NOT check flight ticket NOW and make your own EXPERIENCE too!ㅋㅋㅋ
