Korean Restaurant Review # Malaysia: Ko Hyang

These DAYS its been TOUGH days for me! Quite BUSY! SORRY for a bit LATE  new entry! I've been THINKING what TOPIC should I write about for this WEEK! Then I remember about KOREAN Restaurant Review! ㅋㅋㅋ WHY I choose this topic?? its SIMPLE, because ALMOST everywhere I go I KEPT seen them! ㅋㅋ

Anyway here we GOES, during my SECOND trip on last MONTH, I saw many KOREAN as well KOREAN RESTAURANT at KOTA KINABALU. Seen it makes me CRAVING for KOREAN FOOD!! However DUE to some RESTRICTION like HALAL issue, LIMITED time, I CANNOT go to the RESTAURANT. Maybe SOMEDAY I will go, if I get another CHANCE to VISIT Kota Kinabalu AGAIN!ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Back to my TOPIC for TODAY, KO HYANG Restaurant. What is Ko Hyang??Simply a Korean NAME??ㅋㅋ Try to GUESS what is it?? NO answer??O-o ㅋㅋ Ok, ok I will let you guys knows then. KO HYANG is actually a Korean WORD, it means HOMETOWN! This restaurant NOT only proved their QUALITY on their NAME but also from their CUISINE itself!!ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Ko Hyang start their BUSINESS in MALAYSIA on 2008. This restaurant OFFER variety of MENU that really FAMOUS in KOREA. ^^ Plus ONE of the BEST aspect is they DIDN'T use MSG seasoning in their MEAL! ㅋㅋ Apart from that, have anyone of you went to Lotte World in Korea? or anyone WATCH Korean Drama, FULL HOUSE?? Remember there is ICE RINK in that drama? Same goes to here, IN FRONT (level below of the  restaurant (Sunway Pyramid) there is ICE RINK!ㅋㅋㅋ So while ENJOYING KOREAN FOOD, remind me of that DRAMA scene :P

At MALAYSIA, so far it have 5 BRANCH of Ko Hyang! I've BEEN to Ko Hyang ONCE, the location of Ko Hyang that I went to is at SUNWAY PYRAMID.  At that TIME I BROUGHT my little BROTHER to go with me. He's NOT a FAN for KOREAN FOOD and kind of PICKY EATER but when we were THERE he finish EVERYTHING in his BOWL!ㅋㅋㅋ You can CHECK their MENU selection here

p/s: Don't ASKED me which ONE is the BEST! As you GUYS know I'm one of FANATIC fan of BULGOGI, so for sure I will SUGGEST that! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I had Bulgogi Bokem. I DIDN'T have the PHOTO of my DISHES as my OLD phone NO longer working! So I just DOWNLOAD from the net. ㅋㅋㅋ

Special Event/ Tradition: Sebaetdon during Seollal??

Hi Everybody!! I'm back! Wee  ^^

Finally my ANNUAL LEAVE for 2015 left 1 more DAY!ㅋㅋ After a LONG break, I need to get up EARLY and off to WORK as usual! Ahhh lazyyyyyyyyyyyyy but what to do?? WORK is work!! ㅠㅠ I've been BUSY catching up my WORK until I got NO time to SHARE my piece of MIND here..SORRY guys for the LATE entry..

After FINISH writing NEW entry and about to POST today, I've been THINKING should I POST about it or NOT?? Since its FESTIVE seasons why NOT writing about it?? So I DECIDED to WRITE another TOPIC that related to SPECIAL occasion TODAY!ㅋㅋㅋ Few YEARS ago before I have KOREAN friends, I'm only AWARE that this OCCASION had been celebrated by CHINESE as over here we called it as CHINESE NEW YEAR rather than LUNAR NEW YEAR!ㅋㅋㅋ

Then somehow, after I GET to know KOREAN, they told me this, WE as KOREAN also CELEBRATE it but WE are NOT Chinese!! We are KOREAN! so WHY you WISH us with that?? I was like HUH??O-o What's WRONG?? It's CELEBRATION anyway?! Being like a DUMB I said that! ㅋㅋㅋ Then my KOREAN friends said that in KOREA this celebration called SEOLLAL or known as LUNAR NEW YEAR. Yes this CELEBRATION according to CHINESE ZODIAC YEAR but NOT only CHINESE celebrate it! You should KNOWN that FACT

Finally I GET it!ㅋㅋㅋ After that, I NO longer wish HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR instead I wish HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR at my SOCIAL network.ㅋㅋㅋ You guys KNOWS right that KOREAN is very PARTICULAR about their NATIONALITY! Yes SOME of their TRADITION is ORIGINALLY from CHINA but they also CREATE their OWN history like KOREAN ALPHABETICAL which is TOTALLY DIFFERENT with the CHINESE character and etc~. Ok lets' BACK to our TOPIC! I think I'm TALKING too much today.ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ ONE of the TRADITION during SEOLLAL is SEBAETDON

What is SEBAETDON??? We all know that during CHRISTMAS, most of them giving GIFT to their CLOSE family and friends right? so this bit SIMILAR  to this CELEBRATION! During Seollal, normally ADULT will PREPARE some NEW YEAR'S MONEY to the KIDS. Actually I asked ONE of my KOREAN friend about it, is MONEY is the PRIORITY GIFT during SEOLLAL? He said that according to REAL tradition of SEBAETDON, ADULT will prepare something like FOOD or DESSERT to KIDS as GIFT but these DAYS many prefer CASH. ㅋㅋㅋ So the tradition CHANGE according to the YEARS

This YEAR, this TRADITION somehow become an ISSUE in KOREA. It's about HOW much should be GIVING to the KIDS. KIDS will put it in BOKJUMEONI (복주머니) or known as Lucky Pocket/ small bag. Long time AGO, its between 1000 WON to 5000 WON, but these YEARS the AMOUNT become 10 000 WON to 50 000 WON. This can be quite BURDEN to ADULT. Anyway this ISSUE is NOT only happen in KOREA I think, ㅋㅋ for THOSE who CELEBRATE this OCCASION, this might be SOMETHING need to CONSIDER about. ㅋㅋㅋ Personally for ME, during EID MUBARAQ, I also give CASH to MY NIECES and NEPHEWS and the AMOUNT sometimes DOES make me NEED to CHECK (my expenses) everything FIRST too before GIVING! ㅋㅋ

p/s: HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR OF RED MONKEY to those who CELEBRATE IT! May this year of RED MONKEY ll bring GOOD health and run SMOOTHLY in EVERYTHING~!~
